Here’s what people are saying about Lucky 3 Farm:

“Whoop. Whoop. I “passed” my cholesterol test! My cardiologist couldn’t believe it. In fact, for a second he thought I had already started cholesterol medication. He said he doesn’t usually see such improvement w/ dietary changes. Grass-fed beef baby!”

-CSA Member Ashleigh Heath, Raleigh NC

“Joining the Lucky 3 CSA is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my family. Should you be lucky enough to join their CSA (get on the waiting list now!) you will know that the food you place on your table is of the highest quality. The care that the Nachtrab family shows these animals shines through in the way they taste. I can tell you from visiting the farm that these animals are treated with the upmost respect as is the land where they are raised. In recent years, I have noticed a declining quality in the meats you can purchase in the supermarket. The beef stays pink for far too long and makes you wonder what additives are thrown into the mix. The flavor has changed too. And chicken — don’t even get me started on the rubbery texture of supermarket chicken. The Lucky 3 meat surpassed all of my expectations. It was amazing to discover what meat and eggs should taste like! The service that the Nachtrab family provides in hand delivering the meat to my door was an added bonus. It was the highlight of my month and felt like Christmas morning unpacking the bag to see what we would be eating. It was an absolute pleasure having this as a part of our family and truly the only reason that my spot in the CSA will be vacant is due to an out of state move. I highly recommend this CSA and will miss it greatly in our new location. ”

“We are absolutely loving being a part of your CSA! I love the philosophy you farm by and following both your Facebook posts and newsletters I think helps those of us who believe in your philosophy but don’t have our own farms keep in touch with the entire lifecycle of the animal that will help sustain us.”

-CSA Member Kate Biskind, Raleigh NC

“Hi Traci! Scott and I are loving the meat. We’ve had salami, ground beef, and pork chops so far and they were all great. The beef made what Scott called “the best tacos I’ve ever had” and the pork chops were out of this world, and we just marinated them and broiled them.”

-CSA Member Jenny Reel, Wake Forest NC

“Best beef in the Triangle! After searching out grass-fed beef locally, and having sampled beef from various farms in the area, Lucky 3 Farms has the best tasting beef, hands down. It was my husband that found Lucky 3 Farms in the downtown market on a Wednesday during his lunch break. The ground beef is very lean and less gamey tasting than others we had tried. And the steaks have been tender and wonderfully flavored. We knew that the beef was better than anything we had tried (looking for over a year), but over 4th of July weekend we tasted a steak that wasn’t Lucky 3 and knew immediately why we would never go back.We are so glad to find such high quality ground beef as well as great cuts of steak. Highly recommend Lucky 3 Farm!”

“I finally had a chance to eat some of your product. We had your mild pork sausage, bratwurst, boneless ribeye, sliced ham, and eggs. I was really impressed with the quality and taste. You’ve done a great job producing some excellent meat. My compliments to you, Calvin and your daughter. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and visiting your farm soon. Thank you again for keeping us fed.”

“Cooked free range naturally raised chicken from Lucky 3 last night on the grill and it was the best chicken EVER. Laura marinated it in lemon juice, olive oil, thyme, rosemary, and basil, then she used the reserve as a reduction sauce to pour over the chicken. That dish may have won a Master Chef episode….thanks Lucky 3 for bringing us such wonderful wholesome food!!!! (Alex even asked for seconds which almost made me faint!)”

-CSA Member Ken Martin

“Great dinner w Mom&Dad. 1hr before cooking mixed 1lb grass-fed ground beef (Lucky 3 Farm) w fine diced garlic (Triple T) & fine diced spring onion (my garden) & hand mashed it all together. “This is such a treat!” -Mom. “Boy, I didn’t think I’d ever enjoy a hamburger like that again.” -Dad. Yeah. Ethical meat. Because it just plain tastes better, too.”

"Wow!! Just had grilled bbq pork chops! Amazing! Like no other! Thank you Lucky 3 Farm!”

-CSA Member Amy Cutler

“Wow, this was amazing! I rubbed it with a paste of red chili peppers, garlic and ginger, salt and white pepper, brown sugar, red wine vinegar and EVOO. Seared it at 500 degrees for 20 minutes, then slow roasted for 2 hours at 250. Ken said it was better than steak, the best pork he ever tasted. Thank you Traci!! (Ken is still saying it was amazing… he said BBQ sauce on this would have been sacrilege )”

-CSA Member Laura Martin

“I made bbq shredded pork sandwiches for dinner tonight. It was the best pork I have eaten in years. I have not eaten pork in over 8 years because of what was supposed to be an allergy I now believe it might have been an allergy to whatever they were giving the pigs. Commercial pork products still give me major issues so I am relieved to have some pork that I can eat once in a while. Thank you for raising pigs this way.”

-Crystal Jeffers, Franklinton NC

“Filet Mignon. WOW!”-

Mike Mahaney, Atlanta GA

“For a girl who loves to cook, I had the pleasure of making beef stew with Lucky 3 Farms beef recently. If was so fresh, tender and downright sinful. Can’t wait to try the pork and chicken. Thank you guys for all of your hard work!!”
